As the title really. I needed to take stuff to the tip, so after putting the back seats down and carefully covering them with old sheets/blankets, I loaded up. The stuff was quite heavy (old flat pack wardrobe), and now the seats are back up they have indents in them where they have pressed against seat belt buckles.
My question is, will these fade/go with time, or do I need to take some sort of action. Im assuming I havent done permanent damage.
Massaging the leather is good - but don't rub too hard/much otherwise you'll wear the surface away. If you have some leather cream use that to help soften the leather as you massage.
Prevention is better than cure - make sure the buckles are stowed away properly. I had the same problem the first time I folded the seats but if the buckles are properly stowed they won't mark the leather.
Had the same issue on mine when I folded the seats down to put my bike in, the marks disappeared in a couple of days. I fitted a detachable tow bar for a bike rack so no longer need to fold the seats down every weekend.
UPDATE: Been very busy so I still have not had the time to tackle this, but most of the indents have gone on their own. I can not get my car close enough to an electrical output, so to get rid of the last bits I am going to apply heat using this method (and use my Autoglyn leather care balm):
