Options

Hi,

I just tried to place an order for a Giulietta 1.4 TCT. I ticked most options - but have had the dealer come back saying that there is a limit to the number of options I can have ... and .. for example, I can't have SatNav AND the Bose option.

Has anyone else heard of these limitations? The Configurator didn't complain, nor did the company car company.

Some clarification would be useful.

My manual MA is due to be delivered on Thursday with SatNav and Bose so unless its something to do with the TCT .......

The driver can’t have Bose and sat nav it needs to be one or the other ,and we need to lose two other options, I would suggest dealer fitting the rear parking sensors and remove the refrigerated glove box and rear arm rest.

What's their policy on this ?

Mine has all those fitted !
I think Stevepen and Cartier may be correct... wants to have the vehicle supplied earlier for undisclosed reasons.
And now , try another dealer .

You can't remove the refrigerated glove box. It comes standard in almost all markets, especially in the UK.

I would go to a different dealer (if possible).

I managed to remove the refrigerated glove box from mine. It was originally on the order, but once someone in the dealership told me that it had nothing to do with refrigeration but was really just an extra a/c air vent in tne glove box I took it off the order.

This is nonsense - he wants the car in earlier to line his pockets or meet some sales figures or something else but you can have Bose and Sat Nav. End.

Before I go back to the leasing company, this is the full spec list - I guess the answer is the same .. ie: dealer error, but I thought I'd put it up incase anyone can see any other reason why they would say no.

I had everything on that list (plus red leather) except the BOSE, satnav and sunroof. Was considering both BOSE and sunroof and the dealer had no issue working out how much that would be.

So ... just spoke to my local dealer.

He said he's never heard of the SatNav and Bose not co-existing - but he did say there could be a limit on options - as they only get to put in approx 30, and 15 of those are normally taken up with the base build of the car.

I wonder why they limit it. Seems crazy.

Sounds like sloppy programming on the order screen - not enough fields to let you enter all the possible combinations.

Yeah - if it's the same developers who came up with the configurator, then I can understand that

Amen to that! I gave up on the configurator when it told me that to have a G in Profondo Blue I also needed red brake callipers, which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever!

Nowt I can see wrong with that spec mate! I've just double checked all the compatabilitys are as they should be. Height adjustable passenger seat is standard on a Veloce and Lusso though. If you fancy purchasing from here in sunny Perth then give me a shout

That's bad timing, I've just arranged for the leasing company to forward the order to my local dealer in the last half an hour. I don't care where the car comes from, as long as I can have the spec I want

If the local dealer falls through, I'll be back in touch
