Giulietta 1.4 TCT

Ho do you go first from the light on TCT?

When I start as usually by moving feet from break to acc padal it starts very slowly, loosing about a second and then only when revs are 1500-1700 it gets OK.
I am sure it is not a problem they made it like that but my question is, what can I do to start quickly if I want to go first or just quickly move out of someones way?

Can I press both break and acc and then release break when revs are about 2000-2500?
Is there another way of making it go fast from start?

Has anyone experienced same issue on TCT or is it OK?

Mine is also 1.4 ma tct. If u are going up to a steep road with traffic congestion ,you will notice very less reponses from throttle at N mode and even u press hardly on accelator it need to take time to build up power.

I agree. My issue is similar (2012 1.4MA TCT 1200kms) but different.

I find that it is OK from a standing start in 1st.

My issue is from crawling speed in 2nd (in manual mode can tell it's second and in Auto mode it feels like second) when you try to change lanes quickly or accelerate into a roundabout, nothing happens. I find it dangerous as you have made the move and then you are left there hardly moving.
If you make it change back to 1st at crawling speed it clunks loudly and judders as it tells you it doesn't want to do that. So you are left to leave it in second.

Would love someone to tell me how this can be rectified.

I don't seem to get any of those problems, mine is smooth as silk with power when you need it. Maybe you have not yet got used to the way a TCT should be driven?

Some members in this forum are talking about Alfa is going to improve the software . Hope this is true and eligible to all countries . I really agreed with u it is very dangerous if the car does not response too much in case to avoid some car pushing u. A 170 hp car should not be like that

I'd love to think that it may be me! At least it would be cheap to fix. However, I don't see what I could be doing incorrectly. In auto, driving at walking speed, press accelerator mid-way down. Car slowly increases speed until it hits around 2000-2500rpm then accelerates like a rocket. It is the hesitation that I find dangerous. It is not really hesitating as such, just the nothing happens until it hits the powerband.
When I was speaking about clunking from 2nd to 1st, this was me making it change (to try and avoid the above). Without a clutch pedal to depress, is there a right and wrong way to move the lever from 2nd to 1st?

thanks

Same issue experienced. Particularly standing start up hill while the is full, the car is barely moving for the first 2 seconds, then suddenly rockets ahead. Got horned by the cars behind too many times! It's the same in D and N mode, just the feriousity of the acceleration is different after the 2 second. Talked to the dealer and they have no idea. Their show car is behaving the same. Really annoyed by this. Wondering is it the nature pod a small capacity engine before the turbo kicks in, or it's the slow engagement if the clutch/gearbox. Miss the day with a manual box and a big V6 up front.

I too have noticed that, but I thought it was me as I've never owned an automatic, maybe the software needs modifying
