should I change to titanium mirror caps?
I am still debating the benefits of fitting the titanium caps for the mirrors. What is the concensus?

thanks for the rapid response Dan.I'm still in a quandry about them,as the red looks quite integrated!
I tend to think I should have spent fifty quid on something more useful late in December, like a gift for somebody and not the car. Perhaps that's why I still have them in their box, and there is a more deserving car ?

Personally, I'd say go for it. I love the looks of the non-shiny metal color. But the red aint exactly horrible either

OR ,
You could go the other way and colour code the door handles red,
to match the current mirror caps ?

I'll have your red ones! I prefer the body colour to be honest. I'd rather mine were matching.

Polite reminder Cue......
Remember the grief with the broken mirror
I think the reds are nice as they are, if they ever get damaged you can then put the others on

I appreciate the sanity check. Now I know why you got a mirror cap coloured car!

Well as you brought it up...
I would love to swap the titanium mirrors for carbon finish as I think the mirrors aren't particularly great on the silver coloured car.
I think they look best on a contrasting colour.

When I looked into carbon mirrors( pun not intended) there were none available in the country. They are German made according to Noblualfa and they are expensive so I put that on hold and got the titanium ones . They are gloss finish , the same as the titanium handlebar stem on my road-bike . I had considered a carbon wrap for these but 3M is matt and it would have to be a carbon weave. In the mean time , red it is.

I like the chrome covers more even though they don't match the door handle finish, anyone has installed on red car would appreciate some pics. By the way, are covers installed on top of the original ones so that overall thickness will increase or need a swap?

It's a swap of the mirror cap moulding which involves the removal of the mirror glass . This is difficult to do without breaking the glass in my experience as i have recounted previously.

I never liked the 147 in red with the black textured mirror covers and that is what turned me to the body coloured covers but having got the G with matt silver covers I do quite like them.

The matt silver looks good with the Alfa red and the 17s . Makes me think the slightly darker gloss silver ones I've got would look good with the darker wheels on mine . Perhaps I could get them fitted by the dealer when I enquire about a bailing pump for the tailgate!

Both look good. Its what you feel happy with. If you like the red ones keep them on

I think they would compliment the wheels and door handles nicely.

Relating to removal of the mirror glass, which has to be done if you change the cover, at least when I did that change, maybe I was lucky, but when changed mine to carbon ones it went without breaking the glasses. You have to "feel" the glass and firmly bend it. It is also good to set the mirror to as much as possible to "inside" position to get as much as possible room between glass and the frame.

Oh really thought it's just simple cover overlay.
