Modified QV 1750 owners - look here

I have been contacted by a representative from Codemasters who are looking for a car to use for some audio recording for an upcoming video game.

They are looking for a 2011/12 Giulietta 1750tbi Cloverleaf with the very minimum a non-standard exhaust.

If there is anyone interested they will need to be available to go to Sywell Aerodrome near Northampton during one day around mid to the end of June when their next batch of recording sessions will be booked (there are no final dates just yet). You will be needed for approximately half the day. In return, you will be paid £400 to cover your expenses and if you have the early session and are traveling from any real distance they will put you up in the hotel onsite the night before. Your name will also appear in the credits for the game and you will receive some copies once it is released.

To enable the recording to be as realistic as possible, your car will have several microphones fixed to it by the audio engineers with a mixture of suction cups and special tape (it doesn't leave residue). The microphones aren't heavy either, most are no heavier than a go pro camera so there would be no damage to your car. These guys do this to all kinds of cars including the absolute exotica and are total pros. One of the engineers will then accompany you in the car to direct you and operate their recorders.

During the session you will need to drive up and down the runway at various speeds and revs up to and including touching the rev limiter, you will also have the opportunity to go as fast as you would like and generally play about as they need all sorts of sounds, fast pull aways, engines revving while stationary, horns, wheelspins, driving fast through the gears etc etc.

Codemasters hire the complete runway for several days at a huge cost and pay well for the cars to be recorded, they are a very professional outfit and in return they expect you to turn up on the day and on time please.

If this sounds like something one of you would be interested in please contact;
Simon Miskelly on 07973359385 or simon@all-action.com for further information.

£400 would go a good way to paying for a Supersprint or Ragazon exhaust just to get there

I got an email from them. He said the modded exhausts are purely so the mics can pick them up better. He's gonna ask hq if standard will be okay but i said probs not tbh. The oversized tips aren't sound enhancing as far as I'm aware.

Would of been a laugh vo.

Ragazzon rear box with 102mm tips = 580euro = £465.

Hmmmm £65 for a nice sounding stainless steel exhaust and a day having a blast. Sounds like a bargain

Thanks for posting bobda ,

I am the man that's looking ;-)

As dan rightly says a modified example is the preference as the std version is very quiet. Please feel free to drop me a line with any questions, I cant say what game only that it will be big. We have recorded some amazing cars already, and yes it wont be F1 unless the fia change the rules quite a bit.

So which one of you has ordered their exhaust ?? ......................

Simon.

Rado, it needs to be a 1750 cloverleaf, your member car shows a 1.4?

Congrats to whoever got chosen

Was just checking out the supersprints 572+281 euros plus vat for a back box, 2 exit pipes and 2 tips.

Trying to work out which other pipe parts have to be changed or if i can get away with just a back box to improve the sound.

On price the Ragazzon looks tempting. I now have to go searching youtube to see what the 2 sound like.

Yes i am.
I'm going to have a word with the dealer to see how much they will charge me to fit it as it doesn't look an easy 5 minute job like on my mini.
I think i'm going to go for a K&N one as i know how good their filters are.

I believe it will not affect warranty either (according to the K&N info) as it is just an air filter but i will get the dealer to confirm (in writing ).

I'm also going to get the case number of my D mode problem as i have still not had any news and have got fed up of being told they are still looking into it when ever i ask them, so i'm going to write to Alfa UK directly.
