What I already did mention is that I'm not excited with speed. If so, acceleration gives me more fun and neither 1.4 MA nor 235BHP TBi can give me that. Sorry. I've driven cars that accelerated better.
I would like many things about Giulietta if I hadn't owned a 147 previously. I got used to many sweet things about those cars and I'm not that excited about them as it is with the new owners. What I also mentioned is that 147 was used, so I didn't like the colour much (Grigio Platino) and the engine was too weak (105BHP TS, although the sound was really nice for a 4-pot). That's why I love the colour the most (always dreamt about Rosso Alfa, had to wait for it a few months but never regretted), if I was to mention one thing.
I also like the fact it is personalised just for me, solely mine and driven only by me. Yeah, I know, it sounds suspicious but I'm not sensible when it comes to Alfa.
Also, I HATE modifying cars, that's why my is stock apart from the dashboard insert and the gearknob (but obviously Alfa's originals). I am also mounting a Supersprint exhaust because I think this car deserves a double one. Alfa can't give me this (they have only a dummy one), so I went for the best one (Alfa deserves best) and an Italian one. Also I'll be using the stock QV/diesel bumper of course. I won't be changing anything else. I'll just buy some Alfa wheels for winter.

gee wizz, this thread has gone a bit mad. I was looking to see "What's the one thing you like about your Giulietta the most?"
Radosuaf, if you are more interested in power & speed, and less about mpg, then you brought the wrong G.
you should have waited and gone for the QV. I'm currently getting about 22mpg just in case you are interested, and i'm currently paying £6.15 per gallon.
Vulgi, i enjoy reading about your mods and when my warranty has expired i will most likely make some mods to mine too and will use your experience as a guide. I think the reason there are comments about you are because there have been occasions when your opinion comes over a little strong for some people.
This should be a nice thread listing all the things we like about our G's. It would be nice to see it back on topic.

As I stated twice above I am NOT interested in power & speed. If I was, I'd go for a BMW, honestly.
I just love the beauty of these cars and I fell in love with my previous 147 3 seconds after looking at the dials. Then I revved it to 5,000 rpm and I was sold. The car was meant to by my wife's but I just took it from her and now she drives our estate.
I've driven TBi in Brera (200BHP version) and didn't find the engine appealing. I know that an extra 65BHP is a nice feature, but I preferred to spend the price difference on something else.
Still thinking how nice would be to have a Rosso Alfa Quadrifoglio Verde anyway. That's a great car you have.

Agree!
I like the fact that it gets me home from work so I can go an play with my other toys
Another thing I do like about my G is the TomTom port, fantastic idea
I also like the firm yet compliant ride and handling on 18's, makes it good fun hoofing across the country lanes.
Overall I think it is a fab car, glad I picked one as my company shed and daily driver Can't say in the last 10mths of having it I've thought "I wish i'd chosen something else!"

I've been reading this thread with amusement but to somewhat help get back on topic here are the things I like like about my (wife's) Giulietta most:
The feeling of excitement and anticipation every time I get behind the wheel - Never really had that with previous cars.
The surge in power changing from N to D - I'm certainly no race car driver but but the thrill of that extra low down torque and power changes the car's characteristics.
Last but by no means least:
The rear end - Seriously it has best looking rear end since Kylie donned a skimpy pair of gold hotpants!
The only thing better than driving a Giulietta would be driving one whilst following another Giulietta so if anyone from the western suburbs of Brisbane is reading this: PLEASE BUY ONE
There are many more things I like about the Giulietta but I could be here all day.

Another thing I've not mentioned and has become of great value to me.
I've met some fantastic people who I've become good friends with through Alfa Owner
This would never have happened if I hadn't chosen the G and strolled along to a couple of local meets to meet the Alfisti
This for me is far more important than anything the car does/offers

TwinAir in the MiTo???!!! Source please, this CAN'T be true...
Not arguing over what Alfa engines have won awards just that the TSI won the main award in 2011. It didn't. The Fiat twin-air won the main award in 2011.
The twin charger VAG engine won in 2009 and 2010.
And in a vain effort to keep on topic:
I like that the 1750TBi engine in my QV isn't used in the current Fiat line-up (runs for cover)

Yeah, that's the only good thing about the TBi engine (runs for cover as well).
I was referring to the "1-litre to 1.4-litre" category - TSI has been winning since 2006.

After a long period of careful reflection I have reached a conclusion with regards to what I like best about my Giulietta. It is undoubtedly the hook in the boot that you can hang your take away curry on so it doesn't spill all over the place on the way home.

After 7 months my G still makes me smile but to choose one thing, must be the suberb handling, 'sensibly' cruising along an A road to work being pressed by your typical focus who thinks his car is just as fast, then crossing the roundabout in my G like it wasnt there and seeing said focus become a little speck in the mirror......sweet!

"suberb handling" is what clinched it for me too.Its a very together car with consistent controls and feedback without being tiring like its predecessor the 147.

Getting up in the morning, brewing a coffee on my Italian 'Fiorenzato Volante' caffe machine, looking out the kitchen window at my Italian 'Giulietta QV', and realising I am pretty happy with my lot in life.

Having had my G since April, I'm still discovering new things (like the double dead-lock in one of the other threads!)
..Still smiling when I sit behind the wheel (surely that should have worn off by now - though I'm pleased it hasn't!)

There's huge amount I love about my G, but one tiny detail always make me smile - the up & down movement of the rev counter and speedo when the ignition comes on.
