I am on my 6th modern Alfa and to date it's by far the worst:cry:

it has got to go back in (again) for:mad::cry::eek:

removal of the dashboard to get at the rattles etc
removal of the gearbox (again) to replace the clutch bearing and hydraulics and also check the new clutch
removal of the front suspension to replace the bushes etc
changing the door catches etc to try to cure the rattles etc from the drivers door area
replacement of the sat nav lid, broken hinge
another gearstick gaitor

this will mean about 10 days of the road so far:mad:

Will be rejecting this car as its a joke,

still love them, just

Oh dear, sounds like you have a bad one.

No consolation for you but it really can happen to any car. My brother in law had a Mazda SP23 (in other words a "sporty" Mazda 3) and he just sold it after TWO replacements of the gearbox under warranty.

It appears that a batch of cars have terrible build issues, some owners on this site have had similar problems with, noises from the facia, suspension and the clutch etc. It would be handly if the others on this site with these issues were to compare chassis nos just to see if they are close to the same build dates etc:tut:

For me its one problem after another:mad:

It all depends upon Alfa Uk and their responce? With my personal Alfa buying history,5 since 2001 and all privately owned and 4 brand new, i am expecting support. It might be another G as the vast majority are having no problems, if they get shirty it might well be complete change to a Jag XF, will keep you infromed:rolleyes:

Just a thought, mine had a rattle from the drivers door area, and by accident when cleaning the inside I hit the seat, and that was the rattle. Something in the drivers seat base rattles and it sounds as if it coming from the door when your sat in the seat. I haven`t traced it yet, will get the garage to fix at first service in a couple of weeks.

Random thoughts ...
1. Do you have electric/heated seats?
2. Could anything be stuck under the seat? (I found a bottle of de-icer had slid under my passenger seat - it was very difficult to get out.)

Giulietta rattles

I sympathise with you 159Bob. I have a had Alfas for the last 25 years and my Giulietta Cloverleaf has the worst quality interior I have ever experienced. The dash rattles on the passenger side; behind the driver's console; in the driver's door and the concerning squeaks from the suspension just get worse. The rear struts were replaced at three months!! Other than that, amazingly quick; brilliant stability and brakes I thought I'd never experience on an Alfa Romeo.
