Random Beeping!

So I've had my 2014 Giulietta for a few weeks now and I love it! Get a real buzz walking up to it as it's so damn sexy!! Really enjoying flicking the switch into Dynamic mode and feeling the difference in character!

However, there is one thing that is bugging me. I keep getting this random 'beep beep' when driving along. I think it is coming from the Uconnect system but I can't be sure. It doesn't seem to have any kind of regular interval and there is no light/info on the display or dash that seems to go with it. I would say it probably beeps every 5 minutes or so but it varies.

Anybody got any ideas what this is or what it's trying to tell me?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

It's not a seat belt warning, that is a much more aggressive, harder to ignore noise!

I thought it could be a speed camera warning as I have noticed it happening when near cameras. But I'm sure it's happened with no cameras in sight. How do I turn the speed camera warning on or off, to check if it is that?

Cheers

It's not the speed limiter warning, I checked today. Nothing resting on any seats to trigger the seat belt noise.

I think you might be right Cue, it must be the profanity warning! It's preemptive though as it beeps just before I swear!!!

It really is a mystery! I hate things I can't figure out!

Grrrrrr...

I have this too! It goes off and I start looking at everything for something flashing to show me what it could be! The last time it was pretty cold outside and I was in speed camera hotspot so it could have been either! I'll do the same stretch of road again when it's a little warmer and see if I get thre same beeps!

The speed camera warnings happen twice on the uConnect system - once when heading towards a camera and about a kilometre away and again when you are 100 metres away from the camera. Thing is you can be heading along a road, a kilometre away from the camera, it will beep and then you turn off to go in a different direction - which confuses the matter! This used to happen to me as I approached home and it took me a while to figure out what was going on.

Hi all,
Just got the second Alfa of my life 2 days ago (giulietta Sportivo) and exactly the same here !
Can't be seat belts, speed limit for me , but aha speed camera warning could be it. It's a mid level double beep you're hearing too??

Have deactivated so fingers crossed.
Any other information if not?

while navigatingÖ settings (bottom left) --> the second selection should be routing options or something similar (mine is in German...) --> here again it should be the second option Voice Guidance --> remove the check mark by clicking on it.

In some perverted way it actually does make senseÖ on familiar routes you don't need voice assistance (as much as one may like to be commanded by a female...) and you know the radar spots.
And when you venture into unknown territory, guidance is indeed helpful; and I am sure most would welcome the radar advisory.

Are they on permanently or do they only activate below 5mph? I know on the Megane they are/were on all the time & it was a pain: in a queue of traffic, someone walks in front of the car & the sensors are going! But then I suppose driving a Megane you are never far away from impending doom!

If you have 6.5" Uconnect then only with a map update that Alfa releases & you are likely to have to pay for that.

If you have 6.5" Uconnect Live then all updates are through your 'phone once it's paired with the sat nav and you have the app.

......how can you tell what you've got? If the right hand button on the head unit says 'more', its Uconnect, if it says 'live' on the right hand button, its Uconnect Live.

Sorry to revive an old thread, maybe I should have started a new one but...

On the U-Connect live as anyone found how to turn off the live-services speed camera warning? I've tried the obvious by selecting "off" in the menu. Even tried setting the menu to "Speeding". But still keep getting the warnings.

Maybe switching the voice off could work but on some unfamiliar roads the voice can be useful. On roads like the A17 there are so many cameras it sounds like it's sending directions in morse code :banghead:

Thanks. Hope a future update makes the menus do as they say. I don't often have the nav on but as soon as the thing sees the phone it enables live services regardless and starts beeping because a camera might have been there some years ago. Really annoying. A good excuse for switching the phone off though.
