it was bid up to CHF37.5k (around GBP33k?). It was hit much less I'd say (I know, in case of Quadrifoglio even bumper with active front spoiler would cost a lot), and the car had only 600km done on the clock!
Aside of 2 crashed on sale, I seen already pictures of other 4 or 5 Quadrifoglios- seems liek very common to happen. May generate a lot of additional business for AR - more QVs sold and more expensive spares for these slightly touched (bumpers/spoilers etc).
Edit. I checked ePer of Giulia for a few prices. The front spoiler for Quadrifoglio cost as a spare is EUR2400, and there is some activator needed nearby for another EUR550 + a few other smaller things for sub EUR100.
These cars are fast and require skill and concentration to drive them. Also it's not the best time of year to practice as traction is reduced. My father had a friend with a Porsche dealership at the time of the 930 Turbo and he dreaded customers wanting to buy one. Perhaps that's why Alfa seem to be organising driving experiences for the customers?
it is there, just under Giulia. You would select variant CC2.9 or see comment LL15 which is Quadrifoglio trim level code. the spares prices I quoted yesterday for Quadrifoglio are from there. You just need to get bit of practice with using ePer - it is not perfect tool, but still very helpful if you get bit of practice in using it, understanding where specific things could be find out etc.
There's a video on YouTube showing a Lamborghini that has crashed into a motorway lamp post in Russia, it's filmed by a motor cyclists helmet cam who is early on the scene, it's very graphic and not for the faint hearted. The base of the post is about two feet across and the driver has been disintegrated between it and the one ton rear engine! I think all us potential F1 drivers should see it just so you understand the potential consequences of what a Giulia QV can do to you
I seem to remember that, back in late November, before any of had our cars, there were already reports of 5 QVs having been crashed and written off in Europe.
My guess is that Race mode + cold/damp + P Zero Corsas + over-enthusiastic mechanic/technician = trip to the ditch backwards!
Which leads me to conject about what happens when we start taking our cars for their first service. Us early adopters are probably going to be taking their cars for service in Jan/Feb next year (cold and wet), where (over-enthusiastic) mechanics who are much more used to driving Mitos and Giuliettas and haven't yet had a chance to 'have a go' in a QV (in race mode) are going to be road testing our cars!
I'll be waiting in the dealer when it's serviced keeping a close eye on it. I will also mention to them that it has a tracker so I can see what they've been up to. I'm fitting a dash cam too so I'll be able to review the footage.
Must admit when I saw the title of the post it read like the "first of many I've had in my +500bhp bumper car !!"
