If there was a small decrease in October due to a reduction in orders from Europe why on earth is the UK market not getting vehicels before the US...yes the small technical difference about which side the steering wheel is on but there is demand here and for many years Alfa has been absent from the US. If indeed production is stopping to re tool for the other side then great...

it would be more the need to introduce more test stations/ took rigs on the opposite side of the track. I can't see there would be a delay to switch normally. I.e. Some lessons learned from the test builds where they won't meet cycle time unless we install a second doohickey for easier access.

From the manual some stuff is moved on right hand drive cars, eg brake fluid reservoir, coolant header tank. It is possible that some of these changes means subtly different build order.

Staff training might be another reason for a couple of days downtime.

Clubalfa is not a reliable source... Just look at what they said about 961 mule.

They took story about slow down in production. In the meanwhile they ramp it up. But then they got this story about lay-off for 31st of October and 1st of November. AFAIK that plant is non operational during the weekends and guess what 31st is a Monday and 1st is a national holiday in Italy. So if there is closure on that days it's just an extended weekend.

FCA have confirmed arrival of the Giulia QV into USA (Baltimore) elsewhere and in the last few days US dealers have been advised stock is shortly to be in their showrooms.

I would imagine it was quicker for them to build LHD units for the NA market than start RHD production earlier than already scheduled and forecasted. Remember the Stelvio is due to be unveiled in less than 4 weeks time at the LA motor-show so having 100+ QVs on the streets and in the dealers is strategically smart. I believe another order of QV for the US market is on its way and will arrive late November. With the Stelvio into USA by mid 2017 latest the presence of Alfa there should slowly rise.

Yes its true. I just spoke to someone who was there today. Interestingly most fo the QV he saw were on steel brakes, with standard sports front seats and no tinted windows. He remarked how much better the car looks without the 3/4 window tints. He also remarked that if he were paying all that money for carbon seats he would want to see their beautiful backs as he walked to get into his car and wouldnt order he tints either. I thought that was a smart idea...

Interesting point regarding the tinted windows. I've never been much of a fan, I'm really not "gangster" enough, but since my car is black I felt obliged. The kids won't be able to see anything outside, but at least they will be able to see the carbon seat backs. All they ever look at are iPhones/iPads etc anyway, they could be on the moon for all they care.

A conversion from € to £ doesn't have much relation to the price of cars here.
Car prices in Ireland have for a long timr been more expensive than cars across the water, even more so since vehicle registration tax (VRT) was introduced.
