Alfa Romeo will introduce Giulia Veloce at the Mondial de l'Automobile Officiel.
It will be the world-premiere for the new model with an even sportier look, with 2 new engines with 8-speed automatic transmission and the never before seen Q4 all-wheel-drive system. Follow us for all the details.
(Presumably the 280hp petrol and the 210hp diesel)
Its a new (exclusive) colour, new trim level, new bumper, 5 hole 19" wheels.
I personally think it looks damn good. The 280 bhp model makes 4000 nm toque and the 210 bhp oil burner 470nm. With a bit of aftermarket magic down the track these will be a great drive.
The Q4 system delivers 100% drive to rear wheels for most applications and up to 60% to the front when needed. Best of both worlds?

So we have not even seen the original engines here in the uk yet and they are already releasing new ones might hold off ordering one for now then!
I was actually hoping to see a Sportwagon Giulia at Paris.
Timing of this is strange As Leraunch notes above..we have nothing in UK yet and yet they are announcing better models - who would order a normal one knowing these are coming - price aside obv
just a reminder - these versions aren't planned for the UK at present. This is illustrated by the fact it's only reported on the .com press website, not the .co.uk one. Further to this - there's a UK only Speciale spec available in the 180 diesel with this rear bumper and unseen "sports leather" seats - if they hadn't put this version together then we'd be waiting a long time for a non QF sporty version.
You can spec adaptive dampers if you want together with q2 diff on all engines at super trim. It's in the performance pack for 2300euro/£1950. And you get a q2 badge thrown in to impress your Audi friends.
I was told yesterday that Stelvio will be AWD in RHD. They were also pretty sure that they'd be offering 2 more engine choices in the UK in the new year. Unfortunately I'd put money on 210 diesel and Eco diesel.
One thing is for sure, Alfa UK staff are not particularly clued up on the Giulia. My local dealer kept spelling it Gulia that didn't inspire confidence. The euro spec Veloce is AWD but there's no reason (that I can see) they can't release the 280bhp car with RWD if the demand is there. It's all about whether there's a business case, and if enough people moan to Alfa that may encourage them to rethink. Reality is they are after the company car market, and that is all diesel so they probably would only sell the Veloce to the kind of people who come to this forum. Sadly in the grand scheme of things, that's a small market.
Agreed the must have a 330/340 competitor argument is used, but I seem to only ever see 320d's on the road, quite a few of them at m-sport spec. I do see the odd 330e as well which would be the way to go if you want performance but to limit company car tax.
For me I'd love a 280 petrol, but would be wary about the extra cost.
They've got a couple of ex-Alfa designers at Jaguar. They could have brought the design of wheel with them thinking Alfa were not going to use them!
