Maserati GTS & Alfa 8C

Thumbs Up Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione & Maserati Granturismo S MC, same heart different emotions

Hi Everyone!

Nice to have found this forum! I'm a proud owner of an Alfa Romeo! I just love anything that is Italian, especially when it comes to 2 or 4 wheels!

I love both the Alfa and the Maserati I find them both completely different and at the same time extremely close. The driving experience are so different yet similar. I just simply love them both!

The Maserati is stunning with the white and all the Carbon Fiber, it fits perfectly 4 people and its extremely comfortable to drive. The Alfa instead fits probably two backpacks, when my gf saw the rear trunk she started laughing, I agree that small rear trunk can only fit the Alfa book or a 13 inch computer!

The breaking system is so different, the Alfa just stops as soon as you hit the breakes, and its simply brutal. The Maserati instead is soft and slower. The sound is beautiful on both, the GTS with the valves open is pure music, but the Alfa in Sport mode is on a different planet, the sound is the best thing I ever herd... There was no need for the Bose upgrade! lol!

The interior of the GTS is very luxorious with all the leather and the carbon fiber inserts everywhere. The door sill with the "MC Sportline" logos are very racing like. The seats are very soft and perfect for long trips. The 8C instead with the CF sport bucket seats inspires pure racing. The leather is simply gorgeous, which is also done by "Poltrona Frau" like as in the GTS.

The Carbon Fiber is everywhere the doors are so light to open and close that the first times I was shocked by it. The instruments are simply the essential, no large screen navigator, no clock in center console, no useless bottons, just what you need to drive the car.

Hope you enjoyed reading!

Best,
Greg

Hahah I agree, I have a pretty long collection of tickets, plus in the US they are pretty hard on you, but when they see the Italian beauty they get more flexible, especially with the 8C which is so unique...

You should try the 8C Spider, I find it better handling than the Competizione.

PS: how come both cars, as seen in the video, have no license plate?

Tried the 8C Spider, love the brakes especially, but were I live temperature goes up to -30 C... Cars with the open top, which is not hard (like California) suffer too much, plus I think that it affects too much the design...

Hahahha no plates cause, here in the US it's really easy to take them on and off, (just 2 bolts in the rear, while in the front never had them, they ruin the design! lol) so when you make a video I would rather not show the plate numbers so I take them down, you nver know...

Btw do you have an 8C spider?

Again, amazing cars.

Still puzzled how a 22 year-old barely out of school or university would ever be able to afford even one tyre for one of those cars, let alone the purchase of two of the most expensive sports cars in the world.

Four/five years out of school?

Possible I guess, but highly doubt it.

Anyways, lovely cars nonetheless.

Finished high school early, graduated 1 year early out of the best college in the world and thanks to it got a really nice job in finance... Work very hard during the week, but in the weekends enjoy my cars!

I think that if you believe in your self you can achieve anything you want, the only limits people have in their lives are themselves...

You never know... always give 110% in everything you do and eventually if you are persistant results will arrive...

Just my 2 cents...

Btw do you have an 8C spider?

The brakes are of course vastly superior, but I think it's better handling as well, thanks to a revised suspension setup and mostly because of the better weight distribution (the fuel tank has been moved to the front of the rear axle and in a lower position as well) and lower COG. Drove both on Alfa's Balocco test track and felt more confident with the Spider.

And yes, I do have an 8C Spider

Some real wisdom right there from someone so young. Couldn't agree more.

All power to you my friend.

Fantastic that someone so young has worked so hard and achieved so much. My hats off to you my friend as proof what life can reward those who try.

You dont fancy coming over these shores and preaching to our little lazy chavs who bleed our system dry and moan at the thought of a days work.

Lovely cars Greg! Enjoy my friend
