Loads of 8Cs for sale
Has anyone noticed there are quite a few of these initially oversubscribed and super-rare cars available for sale now?
There were 3 in the Sunday Times, and 2 more (different) on PH.
I guess it's inevitable given the timings (and apologies to BF and others in the same position if you're reading this!) that there's probably a bunch of people placed an order when times were good but now don't have the bonus (or job) to pay for it.
Sadly, all 5 are still priced at £170,000 or thereabouts... so much for supply and demand LOL!!!

Re: Loads of 8Cs for sale
I know of a brand new 8C for sale. It was destined for the the Spanish market but has ended up homeless. First hand 8C at retail price is a hard find so if anyone wants it, let me know...

There's the issue, I want it, and I'm letting you know, but I can't afford it

I guess most know about the Autodelta right hook SZ but Jano told me once that it was more a labour of love than a cost effective solution for his company so would probably not do another any time soon. I imagine you can get Maser Granturismo RHD parts to fit but the dash would be a nightmare to reproduce. Not impossible but it would be hard to find anyone willing to do it. In any case, would you really be driving enough miles in a year to warrant it? A left hooker in the UK is not as big a problem as a right hooker on the continent what with so many single lane roads littered with lorries and vans in need of constant overtaking. Buy an 8C and hire a chap to sit in the passenger seat if you have to, would be a great deal cheaper!!
Past glories: Sud 1.5ti, Alfetta GTV, GTV6, 33 1.5ti, 33 1.7ie, 164 3.0 V6, 164 3.0 V6, GTV 1.8TS, 156 1.6 TS.
Now: 164 V6 24v Zender Alfa Sport, Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCi (Mothership).

ALSO.......The new 8C Spider has been getting absolutely brilliant reviews everywhere, and I think a lot of the original 8C buyers are not happy with this !!!!!........
I posted a recent thread on the the 8C Spider in fact, if anyone wants to read it.........

I think it is going to go down in automotive history as style over substance

also, just like the iphone etc, they bring out the 'basic', then once sold out, bring out the spider, GTA , etc.
If you had money for an 8c, would you not now chop it in for a spider version?

The 8C will remain out of our reach, regardless of the Spider

If I was told "you can choose between a F430 and a 8C Competizione" I'd go for the latter every day of the year for the rest millennium: that is not even a supercar, it's poetry in motion! Problem is that doing a finance for an 8C could turn into a bit of a nightmare ;-)
Why would you change the car into a right hand drive? I find left wheel cars to be superior, talking about driving experience and performance.

pardon me for being rude but other than the steering wheel and related mechanicals being swapped over and some design details being inverted for moulds, what possible difference is there exactly??

It's the "controls per hand" distribution that is a bit of a mess with right wheel drive: your left hand has to control 4 things: the wheel, the gear lever, the indicator lever and the handbrake, while the right hand just holds the wheel. On a left wheel drive the controls are equally distributed, besides the hand with more workload is the right one, which is the leading hand usually. I'm left handed and found not particular difficulty in adapting my driving to the right side (after almost 20 years of driving on the left!), but all of the right wheel people that I met so far and tried the left wheel found the driving experience more balanced and satisfying.
