Have you looked into adapting discs from other cars? A used EVO/STi or even the much cheaper FD RX7 Turbo calipers and disc with an adapter should fit the bill.

Finally got round to testing the car with the Willwood set-up last week, on a test session at 3 Sisters circuit. After bedding them in, I went for a hard stop from 80+ mph for a corner, and the car promptly swapped ends........

Back in to the pits and we adjusted the brake balance, and went out again......

Much better - felt stable and smooth, no juddering and on the small circuit (its more a kart track than a race circuit, under 1500m ) seems up to the job. We tried it again with the servo blanked off - which is how we'd run it with the twin caliper set-up, to reduce front end lock-up - but it gave less confidence and definitely required more effort (as you'd expect!), so we've reconnected it.

Fingers crossed. We'll be trying it in action at the 750MC meeting at Donington a week tomorrow (1 October). Its the full circuit, including the Melbourne loop - in the Porsche we could really lean on the brakes into the hairpin there, outbraking as we dived down the inside......not sure we'll be able to do this, but we'll see......

This is an interesting thread. I will follow it for future reference with regard to our 75 3 litre project car.

Well brakes were better - no vibration or locking, but not ultimate braking power......

And after a 25 minute practice we didn't get to race as torrential rain with thunderstorms eventually led to the day's racing being abandoned. Very rare in Club racing, and very frustrating, but in the conditions probably the correct decision......
