Re: 75 rear calipers!!!!!!!!
Thanks for all the advice and support guys, To tell you the truth I have my own workshop business but have spent the last 15 years working on minis! In recent years I have found myself desperate for variety!
Two years ago I bought 2 knackered strada abarths one of which I still have, and a 155 daily driver, this year I had a go at a alfa 146 and the 75 i have been typing about, I love Italian stuff and had been wanting to have a play with this sort of stuff for years, Last year I moved workshops after 3 very difficult years with work, bodyshop problems, lazy staff, I chucked all that in and moved the business to a smaller unit just for me and its worked out fine! I know find myself able to look after my customers and have some time to indulge in my Italian hobby! The trouble has been all this time doing the old mini I have no knowledge of anything else so I have been learning all about these modern designs!!!!
I really enjoy working on these cars as its very much a challenge to learn the fobiles of each motor, the strada abarth is very much a large mini but the 75s are pretty complicated in comparison!
On the brakes I found that aftermarket master cylinders are plumbed in reverse to the original! after I found that out and bled the rears in the conventional way the brakes a bloody good!
It was a lot of fun though and now have a usable classic saloon that the previous owner was going to scrap!
My next project is to finish the strada I started 3 years ago!
