OK some pro's and cons.
The price is about right, half of the 7500, is actualy higher than he's asking.
The main body shell seems sound, no visible rust around the windows, roof, doors etc.
Window Rubbers all look good.
Electrics seem OK.
Interior is good.
Engine Sounds Ok, holds Oil pressure.
It is mainly original, Probably original engine
It's the Right colour, which looks original.
The Dealer seems a good bloke is not pushy at all and has leant me a stack of books to read.
Rust is evident on the floor, and in the spare wheel well.
The outer sills have been replaced, but I have no way of knowing what the inners were like.
It looks like some welding work has been done around the front anti roll bar mounts, this is a known weak spot, and the cure may not have been permanent.
There is more Rust inside the front arches, but it seems solid enough. (As demonstrated with a large hammer!!)
The Car has cover over 100000 miles, and I have no way of knowing how good it is mechanicaly at this stage.
It is likely to need new brake pipes.
All 4 Tyres would need replacing, they are also wider at 205/60 14" than standard. (Over tyred?).
The wheels look nice but aren't original.
The car hasn't been used for some time, and hasn't had an MOT for 2 years.
I have been cautioned by one of our resident experts, naughty naughty naughty and I am sure he speaks with good reason.
My main worry is that I don't have a Garage at home I Could fit one in, but would need 12 months or so to sort that one. This meens that any work I do would have to be at a friends or Parents house. There could be a lot of work and the domestic authorities may not be too pleased about being a Bertie widow.
But I have a picture of here by my PC and she is very distracting!!
(the car that is!).
If I was to buy I would need to have a professional inspection or an MOT certificate.
