well got my aroc membership and the 90 decided to split a fuel pipe in protest!! That said i had a run down to Lincoshire at the weekend and thrashed the arse off the car - I strongly feel me and the 90 felt much better for this as a few off the light on the warning pannl stopped flashing for a while
Ive manged to get the 90 briefcase and a full set of owners manuals, service book etc all in the original folder so Im pleased
Mechnical work has been a change of front wheel bearings and pads with rear brakes due to be played with once i have saved up enough blood to be able to destroy my knuckles!!!
Well its been stood for weeks while i was working away- And Guess what
It didnt start first time
But when it did.....................
AL the ARC light were on!!!
I'd be interested to know if he bought that car from a bloke in the Hope valley who had owned it from new. I had thought there were maybe half a dozen cars with an MOT and maybe the same number again or perhaps double with no MOT but still registered.
I believe the owner's club may be about to request registration data from teh DVLA so we may find out exactly how many there are at some point.
The gunm metal colour (code GEMT) was called Pewter - my restoration project still has the sticker under the bootlid. The "LY" registration area code was I believe NW London.
I remember speaking to you on the phone last year when mine was on ebay , guess what ? still got it!
When it was roadworthy the trip etc did everything it shouldn't including a massive reduction in milage according to digidash milometer .
Let me know if you still need some parts , only up road from you in Leeds . cheers Alan FORZA2000
hi i have an alfa 90 and need loads of help renovating or should i just sell it! One owner from new and stored the last 12 years, what do you think? Dom
PM me with what you need and I'll see if I can help. I have three 90s plus two in spares plus a workshop manual. The mechanics are the same/broadly similar to other transaxle Alfas but the bodywork is badly rustproofed and expensive to fix. If you're selling let me know how much you want for your car.
Whilst you guys are 90s, I have 90 GCL and love it. But now have some serious dash issues. It is flicking on and off with any of the column stalks, reving engine, doesn't work when it is cold. Has any one swapped adigital dash for an analogue one?
I worked at Black & White garage in the mid 80's and there was a grey one in the showroom for months. I don't know if any were sold from there, but I had to drive the thing back to Edgware Road on trade plates. They were a nice car but trhe briefcase was laughable. Can you imagine going into a business meeting with that piece of ****?
I know of someone who has a couple including a LHD TD. Their biggest mistake was not offering the 1.8 and 2 litre versions to replace the Alfetta.
