GTV6 front suspension

In the process of removing the front suspension from my GTV6 so as to gain better access to rust (thankfully only a little). My problem is that I have not been able to seperate the lower wishbone ball joint, I have two ball joint seperators but they are the wrong size and shape (I don't want to modify them as I used them OK on my other car) . Could anyone suggest a particular make of seperator that they have used successfully?

Also , of course, will need to remove the torsion bars. In the Alfetta Workshop Manual it mentions a special tool A.3.0374, obviously I do not have this tool, any ideas what would be a good replacement?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Idea Re: GTV6 front suspension

Easy- Blue Point part number BBH (bloody big hammer-48oz)
If you use a jack under the lower wishbone to prevent the torsion bar pushing the balljoint into the upright, you can then skelp the upright part around where the taper neck of the balljoint fits into.

I only have to use a balljoint sperator very rarely.

As with the torsion bars, an even bigger hammer (10lb) Normally I would knock the wishbone forward off the torsion bar first, and then remove it from the chassis support by knocking it forward by using a soft drift.

Lots of penetrating lube also.
