Wednesday a day filled with hope. how it was dashed and it started so well....
Taking the 75 for a spin to see some friends 20 miles away for lunch I strolled to the car to notice a flat rear tyre, no problem I'll use my newly acquired pump and connected it to the cigar lighter. Minutes later got in the car only to find I seemed to have drained the battery, no problem I'll use the jump leads....Car started fine, too fine throttle pedal stuck down!
Never one to be deterred I drove almost on cruise control to my friends.
Once there 3 heads better than one various bits are greased and oiled
and the car ticks over better. I drive 100 yards to await another friend en route to pub. We exchange pleasantries and I turn the key....
Up goes the bonnet nothing obvious..so we walk to a nearby pub. ! hour later back iin the car Zilch so desperate to get moving a towing "jump start" is planned. ( You know the drill 2nd gear slow release etc) Starts fine ,too fine throttle again sticks and I notice on the drive a broken piece of hot rubber
Still at least it's running and seems OK I drive swiftly home in order to pick up kids from school. Later that evening start car and it fires up with horrible knocking sound from gearbox vicinty.
Leavin car well alone attempt to start it today Zilch.
Next week it's to the garage via a breakdown truck....
Aint it great owning a "classic"
