75 T Spark misfire
Got the 75 back on the road and it's developed a serious misfire making a real 'drive by the seat of your pants' experience as it lurches in an instant. Not a pleasant drive at the moment.
I noticed it did occasionally misfire a few months ago - and I mean once in a blue moon.
Now it's doing it on acceleration. The rev counter is quite erratic and I can't believe it's doing much good to the engine mounts, drive train etc. I suspect it's something to do with the ignition system but don't know where to start looking. At one point, driving up a slight hill, I honestly didn't think it was going to make it and put the hazard lights on. Fortunately, it found some power and I got it to work.
Would it be best to simply replace the coils and hope for the best!? The HT leads and plugs were all good last time I checked. Could it be distributors/rotor arms?
Damn frustrating as I had its MOT booked in on Monday but I simply don't want to drive it as it is at the moment and I have the prospect of driving it home from work tonight in the dark!
Any thoughts or obvious things to look at would be appreciated.
Rockin' all over the road!
