Alfa 75 1.6ie oil consumption

Hi everyone,

I have a very lovely dark green-gray 75 1.6ie with 260.000km on the clock.
I purchased her recently, nice to drive and feel good on the road, I had previosly 33, and now
I want to change an oil, but don't know what to put because of high mileage, and previous owner mixed a few oils, and it have a little high oil consumption about a 600gr per 1000km.
What can be a reason for this consumption and what oil do You recommend?

Pictures soon.

Hi mate,

high consumption may have to do with worn piston rings, worn liners or even bad valve seals.

Whatever the case, if you want to try a good oil for it, see if it makes any difference on oil consumption, I would go for 10w40 or even 15w50 spec oil.
I found that Kendall oil is very good - worked for me - so might be worth giving it a go
