Alfa 75 V6 Cloverleaf 3.0

Hi Mate,Welcome to 75 ownership,Firstly check the bodywork of the car, jacking points in particular, around the rear
lights and boot floor plus sills and bulkhead.Mechanically check the propshaft rubber couplings(donuts)for perishing as they can colapse, engine and gearbox mountings and rear calipers for handbrake operation, exhaust downpipes are weak,
especially on v6(flexi"s),on the twinspark fuel tanks can be an issue(corrosion),altogether an excellent car (v6),so happy motoring, regards Graham.

hi lads bought a 75 recently and new on urchase it wasnt starting, we thought it was due to really old plugs as the cranks turns no bother but its not firing up. So I took off both dizzy caps and one was filthy so cleaned the contacts, had a good strong battery, put in brand new plugs, still wont start. Crank turns no bother but thats it. I removed a few of the plugs from wells number 3 and 4, the ones in 4 are firing but 3 were not really, also when i removed the new plugs in wells 1,2 and 3 just to inspect whats going on none of them were black from sparking, I suspect none of them were firing at all, looks like possibly only cylinder 4 is sparking........any ideas? may have to do a compression test but not convinced that will tell me anything

By cleaning the contacts, have you made the gap in the dissy cap too big? Might be better to get a new cap and rotor arm (maybe two!). What about the coils?

I had a similar problem on my 75 and after spending a fortune on Electrical Mechanics its was simply tracked down to poor quality leads, I had bought some motor factor ones that from the outside looked fine but just where not up to the job so I would recommend getting some good qualit yones to elimiate this as a factor
