Re: Rogered Catalytic and exhaust and an oil question
Does the car need a cat. I have removed the cat in a 3.0 V6 and fitted slightly extended GTV6 front pipes. I cut a hole in the left pipe and welded in the nut for the lambda sensor from the old cat.
Worked a treat. Alternatively, I think it is possible to get cat replacement pipes. EB Spares (UK) do a different manifold which appears to have the mounting for the sensor.
Oil, depends on oil consumption and ambient temperature, but a quality 10w/40 is a good starting point. If yiou need thicker, a 15w/50 or even better, a 10w/60.
I hear that the shims are thin on the ground, so obtain shims from breaking GTV6s, Giuliettas and Alfettas.
