The solid red wires running into the strip have a bit of a dodgy connection into the clip, but I tried fixing that with no results...also if those were disconnected I would imagine the lights would stay on all the time and not go out when I press the pedal.
The switch appears to be in decent condition...I removed the white plastic part and the metal connectors are all touching properly, so I'm not sure it's a problem with the switch.
I'll check the connector into the taillights for corrosion, and check my grounds as well.
I have the brake switch pulled out from it's bracket at the moment so the lights are staying off (since the button is staying in the extended (pedal depressed) position. If I can't it working correctly tonight before I have to drive home, at least I've got a rear foglight (most cars over here don't have them) that I can substitute as a manual brake light for the drive home...
