The wheel offset should be marked on the wheels (about 30 or so mm from memory but I could be wildly out).
Suggest not to lower more than about 20mm but more is ok- its just it will need to be stiffer. My preference was Spax dampers because the had adjustable bump forces (unlike Konis) and so helped reduce roll without having such a jiggly ride. The Bilsteins are very good but not firm enough in my opinion- but nonetheless, very good.
(A lot of people rubbish the Spax dampers, but in reality, very few seem to have first had experience).
