I havent done too much to the car, work has been very busy over the last few years.
However i did take it to get rolling roaded and mapped at Emerald about 2 years ago and the cam belt jumped a tooth on the first turn of the key on the rollers! Great! I the. Had the engine rebuit by Boss Racing Engines, all the inlet valves where bent. We also found out one of the cylinder liners was oval at the top, so this was changed.
Engine is back in and starts now, and i have spent the last few months fitting electric power steering, to remove the power steering pump from the engine aux belt. I have used a Saxo / Peugeot 106 electric pump and this can run on its osn without the engine running. This seems to work at the present time but i need to road test it.
I have cut additional vents in the bonnet over the exhaust manifold to try and get the heat out, so i need to paint the bonnet.
It is now ready to get rolling roaded and mapped again and then i will be competing it this year.
I was going to sell it, but decided the grass roots ralying world needs a 24v V6 75 to mix up the Escorts!
I will post a few photos of the power steering pump etc over the next few days.
