recently done the very same, have you swapped the filler neck too?
the thin one with the non return valve in goes through the floor and vents out by the rear wheel arch, the one top right goes to the filler neck

see pic attached,
the one by the fuel sender is the long thin green one that goes through the floor,
the one on the right hand side of the tank, the cloth braided one, goes to the filler neck on the right side
the one on the underside of the filler neck, also cloth braided goes through the floor, but sits between the outer and inner wing, so it is hard to see in the pics, you can just wee it at the top, more or less goes straight down.

Hi guys
Can i ask what you had to do, All in all to fit the V6 tank into the TS?.
I just got a 2.5 tank for my 75 project. as the old tank was beyond saving.

Hi, a 2.5 should be the same as a 2.0, it is the 3.0 that goes in the boot.
The swap is pretty straight forward, you need the tank, change the pipes underneath that go to the fuel pump (that stays the same) also the pipes and vents and finally the fillet beck and fuel cap need to be swapped. For a neat job, also get the boot carpet for a 3.0 as that covers the tank up nicely so it is not visible in the boot. You will also have to extend the wires for the fuel gauge as they are in the top of the new tank rather than at the front. And you will have to cut some holes in the boot floor for the piped to go through and a couple of slits for the tank straps to fit into, easy enough though.
Beware when buying your 3.0 tank, there is an area by the pipes at the bottom that rust just as bad as a 2.0 tank.
I think that is it.

Already got the tank, it said 2.5, and definently goes in the boot . Looks good all around, just some very small surface rust i had to touch up.

Thanks for write up .
the straps and the 90degree bended rubber tube, was what came with tank from scrapyard.
So i am missing the fuel cap part?.. i see that now :S.. damn..

yes, and it is crucial, the 2.0 will not fit.
also I forgot to mention, the fuel caps and necks are different on the 3.0 cars compared to the others, slightly bigger, so I gad to get a small grindstone on the end of a drill to grind away about 2mm of metal so the 3.0 fitted flush yo the bodywork.

Thanks
Tho im gonna try to alter the existing, not a totally snug fit, but as long as it is vapour tight, then all good, otherwise i will just go find the 3.0 parts.
