hi

does anyone know how to remove the bit that locates the prop in the hole in the flywheel please.

its like a small cup with a spring and circlip in it and is on the end of the propshaft this bit goes in the hole in the flywheel

i have removed the circlip and spring and its trapped by the bush in there - do i need to press it out is there a special tool for this?

Which engine 75 are you talking about,the props for the 1.6-1.8-2.0ltr are different to the 1.8T-2.5 and 3,0ltr.
But in any case you should have left the clip as was and having disconnected the middle carrier and rear donought,the easyiest way is to unbolt the three nuts that hold the front donought to the flywheell(leaving it attached to the prop with the other three)and then drop the back of the front bellhousing (if it is the larger capacity engine car)and using a bar prise the prop off the flywheel.
