Glad to see you are still making progress then. When you say that there is lots of glass laying around I hope you don't mean that the Windscreen is in more than one piece.......
Nothing much happening here today either. Someone exploded an H Bomb but it wasn't anyone I know..............
Errrm yeah i couldnt be arsed with the conventional method so just picked up a 4lb hammer and went at it
Needed a new windscreen anyway as the old one was seperating from the shatter proof layer and water was getting in, also had a big stone chip in
Went back down there this afternoon and i rememberd the camera
finished off the windscreen and had a goood clean up of all the glass and pleased to report no more rusty holes
Then set to removing the old sound proofing in the passenger footwell and oh my god i dont think there is a more boring tedious job in the world
but needs to be done so the dynamat gets a good bond!
Brought some of the dash components back here and started to give them a good clean up ready for when they do go back in
Decided its not worth replacing the engine aswell, it runs like a dream as it is and its probably in need of a good service aswell so i think a good FULL service and ive been out today and bought the heat proof paint ready to tart her up a bit once i get round to it.
Went for the aluminium paint on my 156 with red lettering which suits that car i think but for this one i was going to go for black with red lettering but decided to take a gamble and go for dark anthricite and red lettering, did a test patch on a scrap piece of metal and it looks pretty good but we will know once its done i suppose
Now for the pictures.....
The hole which was behind the windscreen
Another bit of rust behind the windscreen but not rotted
The section of roof i put the dynamat on
Passenger side floor after the sound proofing was removed
Floor bung, there are 3 of these on each side of the car and one of them was totally rotted, anyone know where i can source one from?
