Set off from Huddersfield 9.00am friday morning we started on the M62 then dropped into leeds through wetherby and on to the A168 were we joined the A1 for a few miles untill junction 56 there we hit the roman rd (B6275) which finally took us on to the A68 which led all the way to Edinburgh which ended day one
We stayed in Edinburgh friday and then saturday headed up for Inverness Via the forth bridge on to the A823 past Knockhil racing curcuit all the way up to Creith then on the A822 and A826 to Aberfeldy before taking the A827 which took us on to the A9 all the way to Inverness, breaking off once to visit Avemore and the beautiful Cairngorm national park
Once we reached Inverness after checking into our Hotel we drove round the top half of Loch Ness and ended Day two
Today (Sunday) was the long long drive back from Inverness to Huddersield avoiding motorways as much as possible (the GTV6 was made for A and B roads)
We set off down the bottom half of Loch ness on the A82 all the way down through Fort William and The Black Mount to Loch Lomond. We carried on the A82 to Dumbarton then through Glasgow on to the M77 to Kilmarnock.
From Kilmarnock we took the A76 to Dumfries the A75 and M6 to Carlisle and the A6 all the way through Shap and Kendal and from Kendal we drove along the A65 through Kirby Lonsdale to Skipton where we took the A629 through Keighley Halifax back home to Huddersfield
Just under 1000miles in three days through mountain passes with breathtaking scenery and the sound of an Alfa V6 howling like a wounded animal.
