Hey guys as stated above, need an answer quite quick going to look at motor tomorrow
Here goes a quick rundown
osted in south african section is a pic of my project car,a 1979 Alfetta sedan, I pulled the motor out last week and to my astonishment ,after thinking it was quite healthy, it has oil in one of the exhaust ports
Now down south here, twinnie engines are like the proverbial hens teeth
but Im so impressed with the one in my75 that I am very tempted to put one in the racecar, the only one I can get hold of is a front wheel drive one out a 164.
Now I need some advice,Mount dawg please help dude!
What would I need to fit this motor in my RWD chassis, the fact that the intake is the wrong way round doesnt fase me as Im gonna use the webber 40s from the nord motor,
will definitely be buying the adaptor flange and the aluminium webber intake runners from alfaholics,
and will get new engine mounts, are the mount points still in the block of the FWD motor?
Next I know I will need a new set of headers,we have many manufacturers here so not a problem.
The big question now is will I be able to take the whole RWD assembly of the front flyweel and casing and prop and gearbox from the Alfetta and bolt it to the FWD tWINNIE WITHOUT ANY MODS?
also please tell me if I have left anything out that is critical.
Sorry but need answers asap so I can buy the motor tomorrow if its a worthwhile conversion
Thanks in advance Alfisti
