Re: 75 2.0l TS Mods
Demon Tweaks do off the shelf K&N stuff for cars with Bosch injection. Got one on my car (it came already fitted). Makes a good noise but I'm not sure about extra power!
Be careful about lowering the 75, there are two issues here.
1. Ground clearance. The first time you break your exhaust manifold by whacking the downpipes on the ground you'll curse the suspension roundly. When you do, we have a spare set of manifolds here...
2. The front suspension geometry is designed around the lower wishbones being inclined downwards. Lowering the car will cause them to sit flat or even incline upwards which will mess up the camber settings as the car leans over causing horrible understeer and strange tyre wear. You can negate this to an extent by either making the suspension so stiff it doesn't lean over (hardly ideal for road use) or by dialling in a load of negative camber. This is pretty simple (fit spacers behing the wishbone mounting bolts) but the negative camber will cause tramlining and a different kind of weird tyre wear!
Be wary of "lowering kits", my car came fitted with rear lowering springs and they're rubbish. They seemed softer than the standard ones and the quality is crap. If you drop by here you can have them free, they're cluttering the place up.
If on the other hand you want a nicely made UK made handling kit that doesn't lower the car but makes it handle like you wouldn't believe...
