WTD - Windscreen

Anyone have one knocking about? Or, has anyone had one fitted recently and know of the cost (and who by)?

Managed to crack the front screen removing the beading prior to re-spray......

I thought from seeing soemthing on AlfaBB they were rare and expensive, whether that was just in the US or all over, not sure, but bad luck. GTVince may have one.

Autoglass just quoted me for mine at £243 with discount for being an AA member. £340+ otherwise!

I know this is probably a bit late but the mechanic that Im buying a 75 off had the windscreen replaced just recently, I dont remember where he said it was from but it only cost him £90. But then again, he does 'know' people!

If I remember I will ask him where he got it from and pass the info on. You might be able to save a bundle if you're still looking.

Most insurance polices, even third party offer windscreen repair (free) or replacement (excess £50-70) regardless of fault. These screens are bonded in so getting a second-hand one is going to be difficult.

As Reg said, you can go the insurance route, as long as you are fully comp you will only have to pay around 65-70 quid.

The company that got the windscreen for my mechanic was called either Proscreen or Autoscreen, I havent seen him to ask but I think that is what I said, but it might be worth going your insurance company as I should work out cheeper.
