Glad to hear the Potenziata is fixed. Have heard safety warnings about why the fuel pump is rigged as it is tho, as if the plugs dont fire then there can be too much fuel about.
There is a web posting among a lot of good stuff at Craig's Place, Tools
which talks about a wire too thin to handle the current on RHD 75 TS cars. Maybe similar on the Potenziata? Thats a mod I will make.
On the V6 vs TS comparison, the TS doesn't have the motorbike type acceleration, but has a bigger boot
as the fuel tank is between the bumper and transaxle. The handling on my TS is much much sweeter, it has 15" Potenziata wheels, lowered, stiffer swaybars and corners like a gocart on rails. Havent driven a standard TS, my neighbour bought one just a week ago, so will soon, it looks a lot taller and seems to have more sway in the corners.
The 75 V6 3L I had was total factory, cleaned all the earths and underbonnet connections as soon as I got it back from Adelaide. (1200km in one day, full throttle and a clear road at dawn at Broken Hill, bliss). It is a great car now being modded in ACT, the handling is much improved by the same suspension mods as on my TS.
When I had it I gave the 3L a bootful coming off a roundabout thru a twisty S corner and got it right up on two wheels, too close to rolling for me. Very scarey. Just let off the throttle and starightened up and it came down again, managed to miss the kerb. Lucky reflex. And I couldnt get it warm when I drove it, as only short runs to work, so it fouled its plugs - I was killing it.
The TS is much better for me as I've lived with the DOHC 2L motor since our first 105 coupe in 1982, and I no longer get over 200kph. The TS max's out at about that, but the 3L would do quite a bit more.... Guess the Potenziata is even more potent, dream car for me.
And the TS uses only 2/3 the fuel, but I expect if you bought this one thru QLD AROCA it might be a thirsty bugger too: Alfa Romeo Owners Club of Queensland (Inc) - Classifieds
I know Julian, its bound to be a fantastic car if you've got a lazy $10K and need a race prepped TS. Quietly wondering what it would take to get it registered, but have too many cars already, must remember the family
Nice to chat, sorry if its too wordy.
