Re: Which 75 to buy?

I recently swapped out the straight through centre exhaust for one with a silencer. The result is about 5mph less top end, but the mid range acceleration seems better( 2-3k rpm). If anyone wants a silencer-less middle tube let me know.

its a shame iam going for 6 into 2 all the way (2x 3 branch, then 2 straight pipes to the rear with a balance pipe near the rear engine mount) otherwise i would have been interested for a "cut and shut"

I have the Harvey bailey kit uprated front anti roll bar and lower springs on the back...also poly bushed front radius rods and koni yellows on all 4 corners

My V6 handles very well

PS you do have to watch the LSD in the wet as it can throw you around abit very

Re: Which 75 to buy?

There are 2 kinds of Billys. First, there are the Bilstein Sport. The other kind are the HBE dampers which are still yellow but have no protection gaiters on them. They were only available from EB Spares as a set of four.

I remember they were advertised only for the TS. I couple of years ago, I swapped the dampers on a TS for those on a 3 litre. The customer wanted the HBE kit on the 3 litre. End result was the TS was really nice and firm yet yeilding, whereas the 3 litre was just a bit too soft. It wasn't worn or dangerous, it just wasn't as composed or stable as it should be. I think Alfa set them up differently. The TS was always a bit softer and playful so it could be unstuck with its relative lack of power. The 3 litre was set up for what it was, a serious high performance sports saloon. That's my tuppece worth.

I have Spax on mine right now, but I think the Eibach rear springs are a little soft, so I am considering a change to a Koni kit or simply RS Racing rear springs. I think I need dampers too as I seem to remember the locating threads are corroded and worn as they are now very old and not as firm as they used to be. And the adjustment machanism has long since stopped working (just as well they are on a very firm setting).

Drive sideways- life's too short not to

Finally got some pics for the member gallery (off my phone)

Re: Which 75 to buy?

I agree that the 2.5 litre sounded better but now i have a 3 litre and have put csc headers and downpipes on it. As well as colombo & bariani camshafts which have made me a very happy man. Now she absolutely hammers and ive had her on the track and she understeers a little but yes u can get over it. It's more the oversteer that i watch for . If you look on Used Cars - New Cars - Search New & Used Cars For Sale - carsales.com.au, there usually good examples of both 3L and TS
