Re: IMSA bodykits

We make our master patterns out of 'Tool Block' then use that to make a GRP mould.

Could be drafted on CAD and the master cut on a CNC router. not got one of these at the moment, but it's on my shopping list. Going to a trade show in September with the intention of buying one.

Or, there is 3D printing !!!

6mm is more than enough would only need 2 or 3 mm for the ram pipes and airbox's

Thumbs Up Re: IMSA bodykits

spence, i'm suprised you've not had any takers on the imsa kit. when you were originally looking for one a year or so ago, their were quite a few people interested. i think you should put the feelers out to a wider audience. maybe post some pics of the kit, that'll get the juices flowing. cars looking good by the way.

Idea Re: IMSA bodykits

you had the same idea as me, regarding the 75 headlights. i did'nt want to change the appearance too much as i was'nt keen on the twin light conversion that zender made. maybe a couple of modern eyeball lights behind the existing glass, 155 style.

the pics were only to inspire what an "IMSA lookalike" 75 could be like
they look close enough to me

Re: IMSA bodykits

Some time ago I was looking at idea of getting an Imsa kit also. It would be for a streetable racer 75 turbo, but that project will not be started for another year or so. I was between getting evoluzione kit and IMSA kit.
But for now I plan to have a naturally aspirated four cilinder mlidly tuned nord engine, so lack performance for such extensive suspension modifications needed to support Imsa kit. But with turbo and 250+ horses I would like to go the ultimate way - Imsa kit.

How much weight would be saved with that kit?
It certainly does improve drag coefficient and enables fitment of wider tires.
I would be interested, but not right now, if you manage to collect enough orders from others I will consider stepping in.

Re: IMSA bodykits

Fitting the Veloce kit is as far as I ever go

Were the Zender headlights these horrible square things- yuk! I thought a mod like a Lancia Delta Evo would be pretty cool. If I hadn't got a cuple of new headmaps about 4 years ago, I'm sure I'd have done something then.

Re: IMSA bodykits

I thought you would say that!!!!
I thought you where not going to make any panels anymore?? So what you got to hide!!!
I have a race car manufacturing business so if you still want to make the moulds for the IMSA kit get intouch. I fancy making a 75 race car and the IMSA panels would make a good starting point for some race panels. So if you are still up for doing some moulds off the panels I am sure we can work something out.
Photo attached of our latest race car we did the body pattern and moulds completly from scratch no machined patterns just good old hard work 6months of it infact
