Alfa Spider

Castor Arm Bush replacement

HI; Have got some new bushes to put in castor arms on 72 Spider for MOT. Should the metal outer ring come out of the inner socket?.....its well stuck in!...or should the new bush just go straight in?..(if so....how do you get it in as the bush diameter is about 3mm larger than the hole!
Frustrated owner needs advice...THANKS
