Extract from an interview to Lorenzo Ramaciotti (chief disegner Fiat Group)
TUTTA LA VERITA' SULLA 4C:intervista a Lorenzo Ramaciotti (capo dello stile del gruppo Fiat) tratta da Quattroruote. | Facebook
Let’s do a game: what will be missing on the final version?
the graphics of the headlights will be different and even the tail-lights will lose the evocative “red petals” style , but will remain circular, a typical mark of Italian sports cars. We will move forward the doors’ joints so they won’t interfere with the air intakes. Finally we will give up the mirrors coming out the metal of the body: beautiful, but too expensive. With the 4c we have 2 enemies: the weight and the price . For the first one we stated 850 kg and we will do everything possible to achieve it.
And the interior?
It will change completely. The style will be minimalist, the “aircraft console” is beautiful, but it takes away space. The TCT gear will operate with steering paddles only .Last doubt is about the seats, now they are fixed to the shell. This would require an adjustable pedal box, too complicated .In the end, perhaps, they will be normal sliding-seats. Our fans will forgive us a few extra pounds.
P.S. sorry for my rough translation
