had a note shoved through the door yesterday, DPD had tried to deliver a parcel but no-one was home. they brought it today.
not a big surprise to get a parcel delivered as i often buy a load of stuff late at night that i don't always need then forget i'd ordered it
bought the sud in similar circumstances, but that was more a feeling in the morning of "did i really
buy a sud
the parcel was very curious though, didn't recognise the senders details and it was from italy
opened it up to find a really very nice new alfasud book
really still didn't remember ordering it so puzzled over where it had come from then it dawned on me.............some time last year i'd been contacted by a guy in italy who was writing a new book on the sud and had seen pictures of my car during the build, can't remember now if it was through here or via youtube
anyway he asked if he could use some pics of the build for the restoration pictures in the book he was writing. of course i was happy to send him plenty, think he got a few more than he was expecting
we exchanged a few emails and i wished him luck in the book writing and he thanked me for my input, everyone happy
he promised to send me a copy of the book once published.....
must say having looked through all the pics it is a very good book with many pictures in it i've never seen before, either on the 'net or in print. some great pics from the crash testing right through to motorsport pics, even one with an ice racing sud!
my sud has a full 6 page spread showing a good amount of build pics, was it really 3 years ago now
seems longer really
i've aged a lot since starting that car
only problem for me is it being in italian text, pictures are great though. must try and learn italian again
