reservoir should be a bag type same as the one in the front with it's own pump. Hangs in the left rear boot storage cubby hole behind the left wheel arch. Pipe runs into the hatch from the top left and down to a pipe that runs along the wiper arm. Use new pipe as I recall my old one splitting near the hatch hinge due to age and pumping water into the rear hatch frame, wasn't impressed with that at the time
thanks ian, guess i have to find the washer system that fits on the wiper arm then, can't recall seeing one
is it a plastic spray part that just has a few holes in
i must have one somewhere
I've only skimmed back a handful of pages but you've made unbelievable progress since I last logged in and you were still fabricating weird-shaped body parts!. (I've had a few other priorities over the last 6-9 months so my Sprint has been tucked up off the road).
The car's looking beautiful, you must be so proud. Most of the rest of us can only dream of having your skills, experience and most of all dogged determination to succeed. I sincerely hope you make it to NAD. Unfortunately I can't be there as I've already committed to going to the Renault World Series weekend at Silverstone which clashes with NAD - bloody typical innit.
Just booked mine in for a recommissioning service and MOT a week on Monday, so here's hoping for some top weather this summer so we can all get to enjoy our pride and joys to the full!!
Just one thing, you have checked that the wife and kids are still around haven't you? You must have bumped into them on tea and toilet trips back to the house occasionally over the last year.....
nice to hear from you again mostro
i was only thinking we hadn't heard from you in a while. you were one of the first (if not the first
) guy that i met from this forum when i had the sprint. didn't make it to the meet in the sprint that day near sheffield, had to go in my 156JTD but i remember a nice line up of suds and sprints including daves which spurred me on to buy the sud i wanted
been out tonight fiddling again with nothing much
fitted the new rear number plate
i have fitted it with strips of double sided tape that is designed for the job, didn't want to drill any more holes
also got them made to match the originals with the supplying dealers name and old style phone number
for the front bumper the captive bolts that hold the ends on had been siezed when i took it off all that time ago. these had pulled out and chewed up the plastic so a replacement system needed to be made up. came up with these
just a cut down washer with a nut welded to it, they fit in like this
the 2 small holes are for small screws that will hold it in place while the epoxy glue will set holding them firmly in place. they have been given a coat of rust-proof paint tonight so it should help to stop themn rusting in the future. will put it all together tomorrow night.
have got a couple of new main beam headlights coming so just the outer dip beam ones to tidy up
times still ticking
