yes, a quiet day today, not much done
it is a bit of a catch 22 situation. it doesn't need that
much more work doing to complete it, so do you press on and get it done. or step back a bit and have some "quality" family time
off work tomorrow and tuesday so hoping/expecting to get a lot more finished off so maybe next weekend will see it off the stands and running
got the front discs fitted along with the driveshafts and hubs with the suspension arms, so the front wheels are just about reday to go back on. i say just about because yet again my parts storage has let me down
i was going to fit the speedo cable before hiding it behind the brake disc but can't find the circlip anywhere
carried on and fitted the driveshafts to make sure i had all the parts, which was just as well as i came across more problems. the shafts were too short, then i remembered the little spacers that go between the driveshaft end and the discs but could only find one
getting fed up by now and cursing the car and myself for the lack of organisation of parts. then compared my old shafts and noticed they were different lengths, one had a spacer inside
the end cup of the inner joint
quick swap of the end covers and both have fitted fine, if being slightly different to each other.
about it really for today, seemed to spend most of the time trying to remeber stuff and find things.
note to anyone starting a project like this one write things down and store them properly
not like me
did manage to also paint the rear calipers so they are ready for fitting. should get some more progress with the kids back to school tomorrow so no distractions
