an interesting few days just gone
didn't do that much on monday, tidied up the shed again.
tuesday i got a few little jobs done, repaired the shelf that sits under the dash so it will sit straight and strong, fitted most of the clips for the brake pipes and fuel lines along with finishing the full length brake pipe, radio aerial fitted, found (eventually) the inner trim for the sunroof and then cleane dthe roof lining ready for the interior to go in this weekend.
yesterday i went down to see pats brother mark to collect the seats as arranged, really pleased with them as they are as good as promised
the passenger seat i got off him will be converted to be a drivers seat which has had very little wear. i also got a good rear seat base which needs no work so all in all i now have a good set of ti seats
the journey down to marks' was easy enough, but when setting off to leave a hint of what was to come happened, i just didn't realise at the time
the clio didn't want to start straight away like it always has but went after a few tries.
on the way home i stopped at the birchanger services opposite stanstead airport for a burger, still with around 100 miles to go. when i wanted to leave the car just wasn't having any of it, refused to start altogether
now hindsight is a wonderful thing, and me almost
joining the RAC or AA a few weeks or so ago would have been the sensible thing to do, just i didn't get around to it. how i wished i had, 7pm and a long way still to go and no matter which wire/plug/fuse/terminal i pulled and poked the clio refused to start
ended up having to join the AA over the phone then wait for them to come and have a look, they couldn't fix it in the service area so had to get taken home on the back of a truck, by the time i got home and showered (left for marks after a mornings work so was still in my workwear) it was 1am. 6-30 am alarm was not very welcome this morning
still, the seats were worth it, if they turned into a bit of a marathon journey
on a better note i got the bolt/peg for the hatch struts from melv, thanks mate
and the set of rear seat belts from scott which although from a 33 i think will fit just fine
also have the alfa logo's on so are perfect
on the rear belts can anyone help me identify just how and where the main belt body fits? with reference to the picture the mounting points are already in place for the pivot (ponit A), and there is what seems a guide hole in point B but the mount for the main part seems to be missing? which i guess should be around the ? mark
or are they fastened via a bracket to the shock absorber top
as usual your help would be appreciated guys
hopefully a better weekend lined up
