funny how life is, had some good news and bad tonight
just going to have a quick hour or so in the shed tonight as i have many items hanging from the roof with paint still tacky so i couldn't do too much. had a bit of a tidy up and then put the seal back in the sun-roof surround that i had cleaned up at work today. took a fair few dead flies etc from the seal amongst all the dust, rust and mud together with old sealant. anyway the seal was fitting in a treat until i stood up, knocked a suspension arm off its perch above my head and of course it clattered on the sun-roof
chipped a few lumps of the fresh paint out
nothing for it but to take the seal out again, flat the paint down and re prime the affected area. might go out again about midnight to put the black paint on, then i can take the sunroof to work and fit the seal without danger of things falling on me
will probably drop it somewhere though
not happy about that at all
anyway the good news was from ebay
saw a refurbished starter motor for sale with a buy-it-now of £12 + £12-50 postage with the option to put an offer on
could do with it i thought as mine will need cleaning/painting at best, refurbing at worst so i put a cheeky £5 offer on it which has been accepted
an as new starter for £17-50 posted to my door, a bargain i feel
life is just full of highs and lows
to put it all into perspective i am catching up on the dakar rally as i have been missing the updates being down the shed. just heard about a guy who has died on his motorbike competing in the event
doing something he loved, but still very sad.
worse still as it seems he set of his emergency beacon on sunday pm and wasn't found until weds am because of mixed reports of where he was
pascal terry rip.
i can still remember when the italian rider fabrizio meoni died on the 2005 dakar, the pics form the helicopter with him lying motionless in the sand were horrific
