Just a response to a couple of points you made there pal, sorry it took a while as I am quite busy at the minute.
You got the car for nothing - ON THE PROVISIO THAT IT WAS FOR RESTORATION AND NOT FOR BREAKING!! to err .... use your words.
For nothing yes, and with the full intention of restoring it. I had no way of knowing how bad the car was and it still cost me the price of a trailer and fuel. I've been completly up front about things as mentioned in my first post in this thread. I also state that whatever I make from the parts will be split with bobdebouwer IN THE FIRST POST ON THIS THREAD EDWARD
So what did you do ..... hmmm go and break it! Oh dear!
What would you have done?
So, whole load of parts for nothing and you broke the agreement by which you came by the parts. That is pretty poor form if you ask me! Furthermore, when you were swapping messages you were pretty non complimentary about the person who is well respected on the forum, who gave you the car for nothing. I think that is pretty poor form - don't you?
I can paste the messages up if you wish for everyone to see, I said nothing non complimentary about the lad, he was sound as and I was chatting with him and his family for an hour or so before we left, a really nice person with no pretence. The work on the car was dodgy yeah, but he was the first to admit it and we had a laugh about the parts not being labelled as we re assembled the suspension to get it rolling so don't try and come that line with me.
I offered you approaching £200 plus postage, for some parts that were really pretty ropey. It was a low offer I accept - but it was an offer. Oh, and let's not forget - you got them for nothing - Oh and did I mention that you were going to restore the car and not break it..... hmmm!
You offered 175 for a good engine with compression with all the ancillaries ecu etc (engine loom is complete by the way but you didnt give me a chance to check before lowballing me) among other parts including the grill, headlights and indicators. You alluded to the rust that was present on the engine, you and I know thats surface rust ffs, and how that would mean you would need to 'rebuild' the engine! if you considered getting one of these lumps without pulling the heads of to clean/inspect before re assembling with new gaskets etc before putting it into your pride and joy you are mad. Shipping means nothing to me as that is an assumed cost of the buyer in anything like this. I'll leave it up to anyone reading to decided whether that is a bit of a cheeky offer or not!
Hijacking your thread - I really don't care - bite me!
Showing your true colours there Edward...
As regards very disappointing behaviour - well..... kettle calling the pot black perhaps comes to mind. I think the rudeness that you showed to the person who gave you the car in good faith - so that you would repair it and not break it probably qualifies you for a bit of your own medicine.
I fail to see how you come to this conclusion Edward? I've been up front about everything to all parties and will split all proceeds with the PREVIOUS owner. If you feel hard done by feel free to drop the lad a message
There are some other things I could mention, but seeing as you are new here and probably won't stay around for very long, I really can't be bothered.
Ohhh, old timer eh? dont rock the boat lest there be consequences? I've been working on boxers and balancing carbs since I was a kid helping my father in the garage. I'm now considerably older. New here? not really. I've been floating round on these forums on and off for years now but recently joined back up with a new username, so spare me the schoolboy elitest nonsense
Are we done?
Pretty much yeah, unless I'm ever down the tennis club for a few swings, I'll be sure to say hello mate. take it easy and please don't try and roast someone because your nose is out of joint eh?
