Hi All,

I have sud with gearbox and 4x4 drivetrain from a 33 wagon, which i want to change back to FWD. However, I'm not keen on changing the box as I don't have a spare. Apart from selecting FWD using the lever in the cabin, is there anyway to use this box as FWD, removing the tailshaft and rear diff, etc?

Thanks

Thanks! That's been a massive help.. Did the tail piece of the FWD box bolt straight up or did it require some modification? Also, did you need to "close off" the 4x4 box in any way where the tail shaft used to join, using some kind of blanking plate, or it was fine to leave as is?

As you say your Sud has already been adapted to fit the 4x4 box, all you have to do is remove the propshaft and put the box in 2WD.

I used the 4x4 box complete, but had to add the black piece you see in the photo to pick up the rear mounting on the FWD 33 body.

HTH
