having some problems with my 16V 33 at the moment. I seem to have lost spark on the rear drivers side cylinder. Ive been hooking up a strobe light to all plug leads and observing spark and this cylinder seems completely erratic or non existant. This is confirmed by pulling the plug lead off and noticing no considerable change in idle, its already rather smooth considering its running on three and if anything removing the plug lead makes it smoother, im assuming this is cause it does not get the occasional erratic spark. ive replaced all leads and plugs and also swapped the dizzy cap out so it can be assumed these are good. i also just tried a different coil but as i suspected this made no difference. ive pulled the bad cylinders plug lead off and put a plug in it to observe spark, the spark out of this plug is extremely weak between electrode and tip and it will only ark to the body maybe 5mm away, possibly less. when i try this with other cylinders the spark between electrode and tip is concerningly weak to be honest however there is a lot more wayward spark and i can get the spark to arc to the body work maybe 25 mm away, considerably more than the suspect cylinder and visibly stronger. Im at an absolute wits end now as i cant think what else i can change that will affect only 1 cylinder and not the others. the only other point of note is when i hook the timing light to the front drivers side cylinder it seems to periodically miss maybe every 5 seconds which seems extremely odd. any suggestions?
cheers for you help
