my first 33 was a s2 1.5 twin carb. it had the most wonderful engine note. the brakes were shocking but i like almost eveything else about the car.
sadly this car met its end at 50mph. helped by some ice on a sharp S bend, ending in an flood warning sign.
my second was a s2 1.7 twin carb. this was even more fun than the 1.5. it was a couple of years newer so it felt a lot better all round than my first one. i sold this to buy my 3rd 33.
the third one was an s3 permanent 4. wow what a car. i loved that car. it had some problems after a while. like the 4wd not working anymore. but while it was still fully working it was one of the most fun cars i've ever had.
the cornering is great with better turn in that many modern cars and loads of mid corner grip. enough power to have some fun with. and best of all i was driving a red italian sports car
.. sort of.
this car just broke down on me once to many so i gave up and sold on. i'm glad to say that its back to full working order now. with the help of the next 2 owners its had.
my 4th 33 is my current perm 4. i drove it for a couple of years then had a really mad idea of building a front engine, rear drive drift car out of it. so its stripped down a bit waiting for me to find the time and money to finsh what i sort of started.
i'm thinking i'd like an old s2 4wd sportwagon next. or to convert an s3 sportwagon into a perm 4.
