gday guys got a few questions

hi guys been a while since I have been on here

so I had a 1.7 twin carb in my series 2 I unfortunately acted silly one night and blew the engine to parts

so I have purchased a s1 twin carb 1.5 I have had the engine fully rebuilt including box and new clutch

now im just not to sure which body to throw the engine in ?

if I put the 1.5 in the s2 body which used to sport my 1.7 will I have to alter/change the crossmember?

and If I decide to throw the 1.5 back into its s1 body am I able to change the dash and throw the s2 dash into the s1 dash ?

also im located in Australia Sydney is there anyone overseas selling a 421 ansa exhaust ?

regards alf

Hi Alfio
I don't think you will need to change the cross member from the 8V 1.7 engine to the 1.5 engine . It is when you put a 16V engine in that you need a different cross member. The Classic Alfa Forum also has a lot of expertise on line.

There are 3 or 4 different front cross members, but as Alfasixnut says the only engine which needs a specific cross member is the 16V, for clearance to the exhaust cam pulleys. From memory, the other main difference is the S2 33 one which has lower and more rearward suspension arm mounting points, for a slight change in suspension geometry.
