Alfasud front pad options
Any advice on new pads? I want to fit new front brake pads to a 1981 Sud for street use, preferably with the correct 'cut outs' on the rear that prevent squeal/shuddering (See photo). I was using EBC DP0193 'blackstuff' pads (which seemed to work well) but I'm unsure if the updated "Ultimax' DP0193 pads are the same.
I'm getting no joy from a local (Canberra Australia) brake dealer who can't see past his listings for EBC DP0104 (which he despises) and 'QFM' NDB2 pads (which appear identical). Yes, those pads physically fit and stop the car, but I know people who've had to remove them because of the noise/vibration issue. Mr EBC rep won't listen. OK for track days, but not so good to live with.
So….any recommendations for good pads with the 'cut outs'?
Sourcing the preferred parts will be the next challenge…before the actual fun of removing and rebuilding the calipers, again.
