Re: Alfasud Tracking...
I have replaced the struts in my S2 (8v) 33. But it took so long to find the struts, that I cannot be certain if I put all the bits together the way they came out... (I'm unsure if the top bearings are returned to the same side they came from)...
I thought the alignment would have been correct, since I haven't changed it, but the steering wheel used to be straight, and now it is turned significantly left. The tyres squel when backing off mid corner, and it definitely under-steers easily, even at low k's (40Km/h).
I have had to wait for two weeks for a booking at a steering specialist, but now I am wondering if I am wasting their and my time.
I will check the alignment as described above, but if there is advice about how ensure the assembly of the strut components 'correctly' -the S2 has four studs on the strut tower, and they seem to align only in one direction - so when I removed and checked it - it seemed the only other thing I could have wrong is the strut is on the correct side, but the spring carrier and above assembly could be on the wrong side.....
What are the approx measurements (in mm) fromt the wheel guard to the wheel centre - this may help me determine which side, is incorrect......
Help & Comments appreciated.
